The Environmental Protection and Safety Center, the first-class administrative office of NCTU, is divided into the Environmental and Radiation Protection Division (ERPD) and the Laboratory Safety and Health Division (LSHD). It mainly takes charge of campus environmental protection and safety & sanitation of laboratory.
According to the Act of Environmental Radiation Protection and Safety & Sanitation, NCTU founded the Environmental Radiation Protection and Laboratory Safety and Sanitation Committee’ (Environmental and Safety Committee or ESC), including the chairperson, vice-chairperson, member & executive secretary, apparent members, and selective members. ESC holds a regular conference every 3 months has an extra one if necessary. It is mainly in charge of evaluation, discussion, plan, and supervision of issues relating to environmental radiation protection and safety & sanitation.
Besides, under ESC, there is a subcommittee, Toxic Chemical Management Committee, set for 5 to 7 members who are recommended by the ESC chief director for having a specialty of the operation & management of toxic chemicals. To supervise and manage the operation of toxic chemicals in NCTU, it holds a regular conference every 6 months and has an extra one if necessary.
